A week has passed since I visited Techtextil 2017 in Frankfurt. An amazing exhibition with all kind och tech textile that you can and can’t imagine.
My mission was to find producers to Heather, our heated sitting pad, and Scarlet, our heated scarf/blanket. I had high expectations and some anxiety when leaving Visby, what if it would turn out to be impossible to put my ideas into reality?!
High tech fashion
Before the trip I sent about 150-200 emails to potential producers. Heated textiles is such a new technology, and today mostly used in other areas then clothes, that it was rather a question if this would be possible to. Will it be possible to use heated textile technology in day to day wears – can we produce high tech fashion?
The future of heated textiles is now
I had a lot of scheduled appointments and to sum it up they delivered way beyond my wildest dreams. The samples that we have been using making the first prototypes and the products that we have looked at in Borås at Smart Textile Center have been amazing and felt futuristic to me, but they are nothing in compare to what I saw in Frankfurt. What we will be using is ten times better.
This will be unbelievable!
